GrandArrival is the private car service that takes the wheel so you and your party do not. Owner led rides on St. Thomas and St. John, one call away, day or night, in a black GMC Yukon XL Denali or an air conditioned executive van. Ask for ideas and the owner will point you to his favorites, from Magens Bay and Secret Harbour to the local restaurants serving authentic Caribbean cooking. Evening runs, dinner transfers, and nightlife rides are all part of the service.

What is included

Private transportation with GrandArrival is exactly that: a private vehicle, an experienced local at the wheel, and a plan built around your day. Every ride includes hotel or villa pickup and drop off, bottled water in the vehicle, luggage handling, and local recommendations if you want them. We happily hold the vehicle during a dinner or a beach stop rather than leaving and returning, which keeps the plan simple.

Not included: restaurant reservations, event tickets, beach fees, and gratuities. If you would like help booking a table or arranging an activity, ask when you set up the ride. We know most of the operators on the island and are glad to point you in the right direction.

How booking works

Booking a private ride is straightforward.

1. Call or text +1 (340) 227 7903, or email [email protected] with your date, times, pickup point, and destination.
2. Confirm whether you would like the driver to hold the vehicle between stops, wait at the restaurant, or return at a set time.
3. Receive a written confirmation with the plan and quoted rate.

No deposit is required. Pay by Visa, Mastercard, most major cards, debit, or cash before, during, or after the ride. Give us 24 hours notice to change or cancel at no charge. Once a ride has begun or the service is complete, the fare is due.

Rates

Private transportation rates depend on the route, the duration, and the vehicle. Airport routes carry flat published rates, and everything else is quoted at booking to reflect the round trip distance, wait time, and time of day. Evening service and multi stop dinner runs are common. Ask for a quote and we will send a straight number, not a range.

Local knowledge

A few of the routes we drive most weeks:

• Charlotte Amalie for shopping and dinner. Havensight is a straight shot from the airport, roughly 4.2 miles along the Waterfront Highway, and dinner downtown or in Frenchtown is a quick evening ride from most South Shore resorts.
• Frenchmen's Reef and the Morningstar area to the East End. Dinner at Duffy's Love Shack in Red Hook or a sunset at Secret Harbour is a relaxed cross island ride away, with the pace set by traffic.
• Villa runs on the North Side. Magens Bay, Peterborg, and the Mahogany Run area sit above Charlotte Amalie on winding roads that reward a driver who knows the shortcuts.
• Cross island beach days. Sapphire Beach, Coki Point, Lindquist Beach, and Magens Bay each deserve half a day. We can string two of them together with a lunch stop and still get you back to the resort in time to change for dinner.
• St. John rides. Once you are on St. John, we can move you between Cruz Bay, Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay, and Coral Bay. Distances are short but the roads are steep and narrow, and local knowledge counts.

The island runs on relationships. If a restaurant is unexpectedly closed, a beach is crowded, or a road is slow, we usually know before you would. How is private transportation different from a taxi?

A taxi typically picks up when hailed and drops off at one destination for a fare set by an official tariff sheet. Private transportation is reserved in advance, is never shared with strangers, holds the vehicle for you between stops if you want it, and comes with an owner led guide who knows the island. For dinners, multi stop evenings, and family days, private is worth it.

Can we make several stops in one booking?

Yes. Multi stop bookings are common, especially for dinner nights and beach days. Share the stops when you book and we will build a smooth route.

Do you drive on both St. Thomas and St. John?

Yes. On St. Thomas we drive our own vehicle. For St. John rides we can meet you on the St. John side after the ferry or coordinate a full door to door plan that includes the ferry crossing. Ferry tickets are not part of our rate.

Can you accommodate large parties?

The GMC Yukon XL Denali seats a family comfortably. Larger groups move to the air conditioned executive van. Very large groups may call for the open air safari bus or a coordinated multi vehicle plan. Tell us the total headcount when you book and we will match the vehicle.

Do you have infant and booster seats?

Yes. Please tell us the age and weight of the child so we can bring the right seat.

What payment methods do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, most major cards, debit, or cash. There is no deposit and no card on file.

Are you available late at night?

Yes. We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Late evening pickups from restaurants and nightlife are routine.
