Drake’s Seat
The lookout where, as the island story goes, Sir Francis Drake once watched over his fleet. Today it frames one of the most photographed views on St. Thomas, out across Magens Bay toward St. John and the British Virgin Islands.
Mountain Top
The owner’s favorite stop, and the highest point on the island, looking straight down on the turquoise curve of Magens Bay with the neighboring islands beyond. Stretch, take in the panorama, and try the banana daiquiri the spot is famous for.

The island’s Danish colonial capital, with its working harbor, pastel storefronts, and centuries of history climbing the hillside above the waterfront.
From these heights you look out over Magens Bay and across to St. John and the British Virgin Islands, with the Caribbean Sea on one side and the open Atlantic on the other. Short on time? The owner's pick is Drake's Seat first, then Mountain Top, Skyline Drive, and Magens Bay, finishing in Charlotte Amalie for shopping and local history.
Good to know
Ride the open air safari bus for the full island loop with a larger group, or travel by air conditioned van or private vehicle at your own pace. Either way the route and the local knowledge are the same.
